As reported by wwl.com, Louisiana State University, is in danger of facing sever budget cuts, that allegedly could shut down LSU’s main campus.

The President and Chancellor of LSU F. King Alexander reported that with the current budget cuts in place, 2,000 classes would have to be cut, and all LSU employees would have to be furloughed.

New legislation would award LSU with only 30 million dollars in state funding, as opposed to 110 million they received this past fiscal year.

Alexander and five other members of the LSU Board of Supervisors have met with Governor Bobby Jindal in hopes of getting a special session to rework the state budget. Alexander has also requested that alumni, and current students speak up and “Let our legislatures know that you count, that you really do matter.”
