A suspect in a possible shooting was seen fleeing the area of Park Avenue at approximately 12:30 p.m. and has yet to be apprehended.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, around 5’10” weighing 160 pounds, wearing dark pants and a gray hoodie.

The victim, who had a wound consistent with a gunshot, was admitted to East Georgia Medical Center and then transported to Savannah Memorial Hospital. The individual was airlifted, according to Information Officer Justin Samples of the Statesboro Police Department.

The Statesboro Police Department, Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Southern Police Department have been working diligently to apprehend the suspect.

Anyone with information pertaining to the incident or who may have seen the suspect is asked to call and notify the Statesboro PD and abstain from any direct contact with the suspect.
