Sometimes cooking an entire meal can be hard, but the slow cooker has been invented to help save some time and effort. As I was looking through Facebook, this recipe caught my eye. I personally love anything with pasta, and this chicken parm looked like everything I did not even know I wanted.

Ingredients:

  • 3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts (I used more than three, and it still turned out fine!)
  • 4 tsp of Cajun Seasoning
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 Red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 Green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 Cups of heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp lemon pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 8 oz Pene noodles
  • Parmesan cheese for topping

Directions:

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Cover the chicken with Cajun seasoning.
  3. Add all of the other ingredients except the noodles.
  4. After about two and a half hours, check the chicken. If it is ready, it can be shredded.
  5. Add the Pene noodles.
  6. After the noodles cook for about 30 minutes, your dish can be served!
  7. Top with parmesan cheese.

Notes: If you are impatient (like me), you can cook the chicken in a skillet and boil the pasta ahead of time. After, I put the chicken in the heavy cream mixture in the slow cooker and let it sit for about 15 minutes, and then I shredded it. Then, I shredded and stirred the chicken, and I added the pasta and stirred some more. It still turned out delicious with these modifications!
All in all, this recipe is a 10 out of 10; I would recommend. It is bound to impress your roommates, significant other, or even your Snapchat friends. It is pretty low effort and tastes amazing, and it is definitely something you will want to make again!
