Finals Approaching: The Academic Success Center is Here for You

Feeling stressed? Georgia Southern’s academic services are available to students in need as finals season approaches.

Why it matters: Oftentimes, students can become overwhelmed during finals week and need extra assistance.

  • Reasun Allahuakbar, a student who is currently a tutor and has previously received tutoring services, characterized his growth as “major” and encourages students to utilize tutoring.
  • The busiest times for the Academic Success Center are midterms and finals, but students shouldn’t feel discouraged, drop-in times are available.

Benefits: Jessica Wingate, another tutor for the Academic Success Center, adds that tutoring services can be helpful for students who aren’t necessarily failing but are just in need of reassurance.

  • Tutors have the ability to catch when students don’t grasp the foundational concepts of a given subject.
  • Step-by-step practice problems.
  • Note-taking skills.
  • Drop-times are available.

What’s next: Students interested in tutoring can go to mygeorgiasouthern under the Academic Success Center tab and click on the tutoring assistance tab. From there, students can schedule 45 minutes (can schedule back-to-back sessions) appointments through EAB Navigate.
