STATESBORO—As fall begins to settle in, so are the brand new trends for 2025. Some that may not be as new as we think. 

With fashion experts predicting the return of the skinny jean, a staple of late 90s and early 2000s fashion, style-conscious students weigh in their thoughts.

“Do not come back. Please abolish them,” said Mapalo Chileshe, whose style is heavily inspired by Neo Soul and the 90s.

“Please, no, don’t bring it back again. Guys, I don’t even like leggings,” said Faith McCallie, styled in the “downtown girl” aesthetic.

Caleb Attical has a more experimental style. Mixing custom-made jewelry with innovative alterations. When it comes to skinny jeans, Attical has a different approach.

“Depends on who’s styling them in the right style, okay. But as for my personal opinion? No,”

Even with the dawn of fall’s 2025 trends, students are finding a way to break the mold.

“ I like a little bit of everything. I like darker colors, I like cottagecore. I like some more alternative styles that look a bit more gothic,” said Azzy Richmond, blending their love for upcycling with meticulously layered accessories.

“I’ll pick a character that I like. This year is Lois Lane from Supergirl or Smallville. And I’m like, girl, that’s how we dressing this year,” said Ma’Kayla Walton, styling light academia.
