As this week comes to an end, it’s time to get ready for Homecoming Week. Georgia Southern’s University Programming Board (UPB) has curated a packed calendar of events for students, faculty and alumni to enjoy. Below is a day-by-day breakdown of what to expect. The full calendar can be found here.

Monday, October 13

• Settin’ Sail Downtown Parade
  • Downtown Statesboro, 5 p.m.
  • Students and community members are coming together to kick off homecoming week by walking in a parade through downtown Statesboro. There will be floats, music and more to enjoy.

Tuesday, October 14

• Chill and Grill: True Blue BBQ & Tailgate Competition
  • Russell Union Rotunda, 1-4 p.m.
  • Student organizations will compete in a cook-off and tailgate competition.

Wednesday, October 15

• Tropic Like It’s Hot
  • Williams Center Plaza, 1 p.m.
  • Come hang out with UPB and grab acai bowls while you decorate your own surfboard wall art. *While supplies last*
• Island Glow Skate Party
  • Williams Center Multipurpose Room, 6-10 p.m.
  • Come skate around the Multipurpose Room in waves and celebrate homecoming! Skates will be provided. The skate waves can be found on the homecoming calendar. 

Thursday, October 16

• Doo Dah Dance & Step Show
  • The Hill Convocation Center, 7 p.m. (Doors open at 5:30)
  • Come watch student organizations compete in rounds of dance and step competitions, hoping to win a trophy. Here, the homecoming court will be presented, and the Duke and Duchess will be crowned, along with Mr. and Miss Freshman.

Friday, October 17

• Homecoming Concert ft. BossMan Dlow
  • The Hill Convocation Center, 7 p.m. (Doors open at 5:30)
  • Come check out the biggest event of the week! Buses will start running at 4:30, and tickets are on sale now.

Saturday, October 18

• True Blue 5k Race
  • Recreation Activity Center, 8 a.m.
  • Students and community members are encouraged to stay active and come out to the RAC to participate in the annual 5k. For more information, click here.
• Football vs. Georgia State
  • Paulson Staudim, Time TBD
  • Come out and support our football team against our rival school! During halftime, we will crown the homecoming King and Queen.

Along with these events, there will also be week-long events, such as Coin Wars, hosted by Fraternity and Sorority Life, and Homecoming Royalty voting, which opens on Monday, Oct. 13.
