SGA hosted a scholarship fair in the Russell Union Ballroom on November 11th.​

Caitlin Borges, Donor Relations Coordinator, shared the event’s purpose.​

“We’re here to talk about the scholarship universe platform that has been rolled out across Georgia Southern University. It’s used for both internal and external scholarship opportunities for students to apply for. This is our first year where both are housed within one portal.”​

Now, students can easily access these scholarships all in one place.​

This is how you can find these scholarships:​

Step One:

Log in to the MyScholarships Portal using Georgia Southern Credentials (your GS ID and password).​

Step Two:

Select “Questions” from the user menu to begin or continue answering questions.​

This allows the platform to match you with scholarships that you qualify for.​

Step Three:

Go to the “Scholarships” in the user menu to explore opportunities.​

Step Four:

Select “Applications” from the user menu. Review and submit applications directly through the portal or via links to external websites.​

Borges also offered some words of advice to students applying.​

“Check back with Scholarship Universe every couple weeks or so, continue to answer questions, see if any new scholarships have been added, because they’re being added all the time.”

​The annual submission deadline is February 1st.
