Georgia Southern to Host Sankofa Museum on Wheels

The Georgia Southern Multicultural Student Center will host the Sankofa African-American Museum on Wheels next month.

The event will take place in honor of Black History Month on Thursday, Feb. 5 from 12-8 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 6 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Russell Union Ballroom.

The Sankofa African-Amerian Museum on Wheels consists of a collection of more than 20 displays filled with historical artifacts from the 1860s to the present.

Martin Luther King Jr., President Barack Obama and journalist Ida B. Wells are some of the important figures shown at the museum.

Visitors can expect a guided tour, interactive question session and dramatic presentations at the event. The event is free and open to the public.
