Georgia Southern University’s swimming and diving team was nationally recognized by CollegeSwimming.com’s Mid-Major Ranking list making the #42 spot with 722.2 points.

“This is a great step for our program,” Head Coach Nathan Kellogg said in a news release. “It is a testament to the continuing hard work by our swimmers and divers, as well as the commitment to our vision, in which Georgia Southern gains national recognition.”

Columbia leads the women’s list with 931.04 points, while Harvard dominates the men’s list with a score of 908.07.  These rankings by Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com are the only objective ranking of swimming for the NAIA, NJCAA, and NCAA Divisions I, II and III.  The rankings are based on a point system that takes the NCAA time standards, predicted qualifying times and percentile rankings from the past four seasons.

GSU’s conference opponent Liberty University is also on the list at #23.  The Eagles will face Liberty, along with Howard University and Davidson College, this coming weekend at the CCSA Duals in Davidson, NC.
