Georgia Southern volleyball hosts conference rival Troy this Friday at 6:30. The Eagles, amidst a rebuild, are 5-8 while the Trojans are 12-2 and winners of their last seven games.

Troy’s first loss came against shared opponent ETSU, who the Eagles lost to two weeks ago.

Troy is 2-0 against Sun Belt opponents in 2019, most recently defeating Little Rock in three sets. GS, meanwhile, is a combined 1-6 in Sun Belt sets through two games.

The Trojan offense is led by junior outside hitter Cheyenne Hayes, who leads her squad with 217 kills, 100 more than the next closest teammate. GS will look to continue sharing the load, letting senior Carly Turner, sophomore Maddie Bryant and freshman Mya Wilson shoulder the bulk of the offense.

After Troy, the Eagles will host the South Alabama Jaguars on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Senior middle blocker Kelley Hartman leads the Sun Belt with the highest percentage of .397. The Jaguars have defeated GS at home for the past two seasons.

GS hopes to bounce back after losing to Coastal Carolina and App State in the first weekend of conference play.
