Many Georgia Southern University students are under the impression that various buildings on campus are sinking because they are built on wetlands.

Rumors that the Newton Building and the Nursing Building are sinking are untrue, according to sources at the Physical Plant.

“The rumors pertaining to sinking are without basis and there are no facts to support them. My official statement on these rumors is that they are false, and I have no additional comment at this time,” Associate Director of the Physical Plant Ron Ulvog said in a written statement.

Campus architect Haroun Homayun also said that the Newton Building and Nursing Building are most certainly not sinking.
