The Georgia Southern Baseball team has officially released its schedule for the upcoming 2020 season consisting of 29 homes games, three games against nationally ranked opponents and two neutral site games.

GS will kick off the season on Feb. 14 with five straight home games with the first four games against Ball State and the fifth game against No. 20 Georgia Tech.

Other notable non-conference opponents include two SEC powerhouses. On March 3, 4 and 11, GS will matchup against No. 13 Georgia. The first game will be played in Athens. The second matchup will be held in North Augusta, South Carolina. The last meeting between these two schools will take place in Statesboro.

The Eagles are also set to face Tennessee on April 1.

GS will face the last of their ranked opponents when they matchup against No. 14 East Carolina in a trio of games late in February in Greenville, North Carolina.

“Our team is looking forward to playing another challenging schedule in 2020,” Head coach Rodney Hennon said in a press release.  “The non-conference portion will feature nine games against opponents that competed in the NCAA Regionals a year ago and finished with top 15 RPI’s.  Once again, the early season slate should prepare us well for an always tough Sun Belt schedule.”

The baseball team begins conference play on March 13 at home against Troy, and conference play wraps up at the Sun Belt Championship Tournament from May 19-24 in Montgomery, Alabama.

“This year will also mark the first year of the Sun Belt Tournament moving to a neutral site,” Hennon said.  “I believe the downtown Montgomery area and Riverwalk Stadium will provide a great venue for student-athletes and fans to experience a first-class championship experience.”
