STATESBORO — Head Coach Kim Dean announced the hiring of new assistant coach, Dani Price, to replace previous coach Tim Homan.

“I believe her resume speaks for itself in what she has been able to accomplish over the past few years,” Dean said in a press release. “In talking with the previous head coaches she has worked for, it’s made me confident that she is an up and coming young softball coach who our program will benefit from having here in Statesboro.”

Price is coming from McNeese State University, where she served as an assistant coach for two years. She specialized in pitching and can be credited with helping to lower the team’s ERA from 3.56 in 2018 to 2.53 in 2019.

She graduated from McNeese in 2013 and earned her master’s degree in 2017 from Baylor University. While at Baylor, she assisted the team with their visits to two Women’s College World Series.

She will be responsible for pitching, handling the team’s social media, assisting with recruiting, alumni relations and special events.

The Eagles went 23-28 last season and made a brief appearance in the Sun Belt Tournament before being eliminated by Coastal Carolina.

“In addition to her technical abilities, I believe she’s going to be very good for our team morale and that her motivation will really push our student-athletes to be our best,” Dean said.
