It was announced Sunday afternoon that Georgia Southern will be facing Eastern Michigan in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama on Dec. 15.

Going into the game GS has a record of 9-3 and they are hoping to clinch that tenth win. The opponent holds a record of 7-5 and their hunger is there as well.

“This opportunity is something that we don’t take lightly,” said Head Coach Chad Lunsford.

“We’re just excited that we’re going to have this opportunity to go down and just show what Georgia Southern football is about.”

This will be the first time that GS and EMU meet and GS will come into the game with a 2-1 record against teams from the Mid-American Conference. Those wins have that split with Western Michigan and then GS beat out Bowling Green 58-27 in the GoDaddy Bowl in 2015.

After this season and the drive that the Eagles have carried through every win and loss, the team is excited to show Eagle Nation what this means to them.

“It didn’t matter who we played,” redshirt-sophomore quarterback Shai Werts said. “It’s going to be a good team and it’s going to be a good game so we’re ready.”
