Georgia Southern’s Armstrong campus held a Lighting Ceremony, a celebration of the upcoming holiday season on Thursday, Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. The event was very family-oriented with plenty of goodies and activities for children and their families to participate in.

The event was well attended and featured speeches from Georgia Southern’s President, Dr. Kyle Marrero, as well as this year’s homecoming royalty, including Homecoming Queen Angela Gracia and Homecoming Duchess Icis Sutton, both students at Armstrong.

After the opening remarks, guests were treated to treats and activities, including a train ride, tables with candy and other goodies and a letter-writing station for children to write to Santa.

Check out the gallery for pictures of the speakers, tables, activities and more from the event.

Information for upcoming events and resources for those looking for their events to be covered can be found on The George-Anne Inkwell’s Campus Corkboard.
