After garnering their first national ranking since 2013, the Eagles fell to Florida State, 6-5.

GS quickly jumped out to a four-run lead behind a Noah Ledford two run home run and RBIs from Christian Avant and Jesse Sherrill.

Another Ledford homer pushed the Eagle lead back to four runs after the Seminoles finally got on the board in the fifth inning.

The Eagles still les by four after seven innings, but FSU found two runs in both the eighth and ninth innings to force extra innings.

After a scoreless 10th inning, the Eagles loaded the bases but could not bring a run across in the top of the 11th. FSU also loaded the bases in the bottom of the 11th and won the game on a walk-off walk.

Ledford led the way offensively with two home runs and three total RBIs. On the mound, Jake Martin was credited with his first loss of the season after walking home the winning run.

GS now sits at 24-13 (11-4 SBC) on the season, which is good enough for second in the Sun Belt Conference standings.

The Eagles will be back in action this weekend as they travel to take on South Alabama. All three games will be televised on ESPN+.
