Game Preview: Eagles look to rebound against MAC opponent

History: Georgia Southern and Ball State have never met in football.

Last Week: Georgia Southern lost their game of the season last weekend at the hands of UAB.

Kyle Vantrease and the passing game struggled to reach just 200 yards, which was their first real challenge of the season. However, running back Jalen White starred with over 100 yards and two touchdowns.

The Eagle defense struggled to find any success, as Blazer running back DeWayne McBride ran for more 200 yards and four touchdowns. Quarterback Dylan Hopkins added another touchdown for UAB.

Scouting Report: The Eagles’ passing game should return back to form against a shaky Cardinals’ defense. BSU ranks outside the top-60 in the nation in passing defense, but the Cardinal run defense is even worse.

BSU allows more than 170 yards on the ground per game, which ranks No. 97 in the entirety of FBS. Following the success of Jalen White so far this season, the Eagles could look to exploit perhaps the Cardinals’ biggest weakness.

The Cardinals run a pretty balanced offense, which should simplify things for a reeling Eagle defense.

Bottom Line: The Eagles have got to get back on track. That’s it, that’s the bottom line.

Prediction: Eagles roll, 41-20
