The Eagles traveled to Jacksonville University and were successful on the road as they took a 4-1 win and improved their record to 23-20 for the season.

The Eagles were early to get on the board and take the lead 1-0. With the help of loaded bases and a single RBI, sophomore Shelby Wilson was able to make it to the plate in the first inning.

GS added two more runs to their lead in the third off of another RBI from freshman Allyssah Mullis and an error by Jacksonville’s first baseman. Both junior Hannah Farrell and junior Logan Harrell logged the runs, both unearned.

Jacksonville finally answered in the third as they sent a double to right center field, allowing another runner to make it to home plate.

The rest of the game remained scoreless until the seventh inning where Mullis doubled to left sent, giving Harrell the window to find the plate and add to the Eagle’s lead of 4-1 and cap the scoring for the game.

Freshman RHP Rylee Waldrep took the win for the Eagles as she threw only four hits and one run in the five innings she played. Along with that, she threw two strikeouts.

Alyssa Bilodeau took the loss for Jacksonville as she threw five hits and three runs during her three innings of play but threw three strikeouts.

“This was a great team win tonight,” Georgia Southern Head Coach Kim Dean told gseagles. “Allyssah [Mullis] did a great job today, being successful with runners on… I’m pleased with tonight’s performance and looking forward to traveling to Lafayette this weekend.”
