Women’s volleyball improved to 8-1 after UNC route

The Lady Eagles dominated in all 3 sets leading the entire time

 

1st Set: In the 1st set against UNC Asheville the Lady Eagles got out to a hot start scoring 5 unanswered points. 

  • After jumping out to a 12-6 lead, the women’s volleyball team would continue to pile on points. 
  • The attacking power of the Eagles would be no match as they would score 13 more points to UNC’s 6, winning the set 25-12.

 

2nd Set: The Lady Eagles continued this offensive trend on a 10-2 run to open the 2nd set. 

  • They put up points in bunches, and UNC proved to be no match for the Eagles in the second set as they would only manage to score 10 points.
  •  The women’s volleyball team would go on to win 25-10. 

 

3rd Set: The Lady Eagles would complete the sweep in dominant fashion winning the 3rd set 25-15. 

 

  • Chamblee Russell and Raegan Barth co-led all players in kills with 8.
  • Kiersten Barrett led all players in Aces and Assists with 4 and 17 respectively.
  • Megan Vickey had a game-high 4 blocks.
  • Ashlynn Lovett led all players in digs with 11. 

 

What’s next: The Eagles continue their campaign on the road in Macon, GA, where they will face off against Mercer, on September 14th. The game can be streamed on ESPN+ at 6:00 pm.
