As fall settles over Statesboro, Georgia Southern’s fall sports season is ready to take flight. Eagle Nation has plenty to be excited about this year.
Football continues to be the centerpiece of campus sports culture. Head Coach Clay Helton looks to build on last season’s momentum with QB JC French, RB Jalen White, and WR Derwin Burgess Jr. all aiming for standout performances. With strong returners and new talent, the Eagles aim to climb the Sun Belt Conference standings and return to postseason action.
Men’s Soccer is quietly building something under Head Coach Lee Squires. He is leading a team that’s gaining momentum, joined by new assistant coach Clayton Zelin.
Men’s Tennis looks to defend its Sun Belt regular-season title, while Volleyball, Women’s Soccer, and Cross Country athletes are also set to compete with determination. Facility upgrades and expanded coaching staff are further fueling Eagle success.
Students can look forward to spirited game days, tailgates, and campus pride. Whether you’re watching from the stands or joining a new fan group, fall 2025 is full of opportunities to rally behind Georgia Southern athletics.
