Career Showcase week is an event held at the Recreation Activity Center (RAC) every semester, where employers from around the nation come to seek out Georgia Southern students.
Yesterday, Sept. 16, was the Technical Day, where the focus was on “engineering, information technology, information systems, data analytics, research & development, programming, construction, biomedical, manufacturing, and other technical professions,” according to the Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) website.
This afternoon, from 11-3 p.m., the All Majors Day will be held. This features “opportunities in accounting, management, sales, government, finance, hospitality, healthcare, communications, marketing, social services, and other non-technical professions,” according to the website.
Here are some preparation tips from the OCPD team to have a successful day:
- Bring multiple copies of your resumé to hand out to employers.
- Dress business casual
- Research the employers who are set to attend the event. For a full list, click here.
- Download the Career Fair Plus app to access the interactive map and learn more about the tables around you.
- Prepare to ask the employers questions about what they are looking for, hiring timelines, and more.
The Career Showcase week is held every semester at the RAC, and it will be held in the Main Gym. They will also be offering free professional headshots in the lobby.
