The Academic Success Center (ASC) has released a new update to its tutoring service. Now, students can access a new site called Penji, which connects them to multiple free tutoring services on campus.
Penji is a third-party website outside of Georgia Southern that helps connect students with campus resources. With Penji, students can access sites such as ASC tutoring, campus resources, Tutor.com, and the Science & Mathematics Academic Resource & Tutorial Center (S.M.A.R.T).
Before the change, students would have to go through EAB Navigate on the MyGeorgiaSouthern website.
“Previously, students had to use the EAB Navigate website; there was a lot of clicking involved, and it wasn’t a simple process for students,” says Joann Cottrell, tutoring coordinator on the Statesboro Campus. “But now through Penji, it’s a lot quicker and a lot less clicks. It’s easier to narrow down options by specific tutors or locations.”
Now, students can either visit the website or use the Penji mobile app. Penji also allows access not only to the Statesboro Campus, but also to the Armstrong Campus.
“We highly encourage downloading the Penji app,” says Cottrell, “You can use push notifications for your appointments, and you can instant message the tutors.”
To access the app, simply download it from the Google Play or Apple App Store and log in with your MyGeorgiaSouthern credentials.
