So, I’m not going to lie. In true Savannah fashion I completely forgot to write this by the date it was due. So I apologize if this is not as eloquent as it should be because I typed this up as fast as I possibly could when I found out Blakeley was still taking submissions (big thanks to Blakeley).

So, this is it? This is the end. I’m an officially ~irrelevant~ adult.

It’s hard to really put into words what my time here at Southern has meant to me. I think Charles Dickens sums it up the best: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”  It’s true when it was the best of times it was the best, but when it was the worst it was the worst.

But trust me, the good outweighed the bad, and I am thankful for it all.

I am thankful for Gnats’ black raspberry margarita pitchers, and I am thankful for the mornings after Gnats’ black raspberry margarita pitchers.

I am immensely thankful for the George-Anne Media group and everyone at The Reflector because they allowed me to create work I am proud of, and most importantly giving me friendships that will last a lifetime.

I am thankful for all the love I’ve felt and all of the heartbreak I’ve experienced.

I am thankful for the journalism department and every person and professor that has walked into my life because of it.

I am thankful for spontaneous wine nights, and El Sombrero lunch dates and even converged news production (if you’re a journalism student you know this struggle).

I’m even thankful for all my parking tickets. Actually, I take that one back.

At the end of the day, I am thankful for it all because all of it has helped grow into someone I love, and for that, I am truly thankful.

I still can’t believe it’s over, but it’s been a wild ride Southern, thanks for it all.
