Hewitt sets career high

Trevor McNaboe

A career high 32 points by junior guard Jelani Hewitt was for naught as the Georgia

Southern University men’s basketball team fell 88-73 to Davidson College at Hanner

Fieldhouse.

The top ranked Wildcats got ahead early and headed into the break with a 45-32

lead.

The loss drops the Eagles to 4-8 in the conference and continues a losing streak that

now stretches to four games.

Hewitt along with the rest of GSU shot well as they both hit 50 percent from three and

also from the field.

With four games remaining the chance to get a good seed for the upcoming Southern

Conference Tournament is slipping.

The Eagles look to push past the struggles at home and will go on the road on

Thursday as they take on second ranked University of Tennessee Chattanooga at 7

p.m.
