Police investigate recent armed robbery

The Statesboro Police Department and Georgia Southern University Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Oct. 23 at approximately 11:30 p.m. at Plantation Villas Apartments.

Two black males approached the victim and forced him to drive to an ATM on Chandler Road by the Subway Restaurant, according to a Campus Alert from the dean of students.

The victim was then forced to drive the men to the victim’s home at Freedom’s Landing.

The first suspect was described as a black male wearing dark jeans, blue boxer shorts, dark jacket and a red baseball-styled cap with possible Chicago Bulls symbol in the front. The male was also carrying a black shirt to cover his face, according to the alert.

The second suspect was described as a black male wearing dark pants and a dark grey hoodie.

The suspects fled toward the bypass from Freedom’s Landing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Tommy Brown of the Statesboro Police Department or GSU public safety.
