Georgia Southern Theatre will hold auditions at the Center for Art and Theatre on Wednesday for the two fall plays, “Hay Fever” by Noel Coward and “The Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde.

The two plays are British comedies and are some of the most famous plays from the playwrights, according to the GS’ associate professor of theatre, Nick Newell.

“Even Though they are separated by a lot of time they have a lot of similarities in their senses of humor,” Newell said.

These plays will run in rotating repertory, one every other day, from Oct. 16 to Oct. 30.

The auditions are open to all students of all majors and minors. No material needs to be prepared as the auditions are cold readings.

“For a department that does a lot of the stuff that we do, we’re actually still a very close knit family so it’s just a heck of a lot of fun,” Newell said.

Anyone interested in auditioning can register at the Box Office inside the Center for Art and Theatre. More information can be found at the Theatre and Performance Audition Information page.
