STATESBORO — The Harper and Sons Construction Company broke ground on the new building, located at 885 Arch Way near the Walmart Neighborhood Market in July and are ready to serve the Statesboro community.

This will be the first stand alone restaurant for a Surcheros with the others being a part of different retailers and restaurants.

“There will be a turnover by October but the restaurant is expected to be done late this year or early next year,” Steve Langston, a construction worker said.

CEO and founder of the restaurant, Luke Christian, started the restaurant chain in 2007 in Douglas, Georgia.

The restaurant will focus on selling foods such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas and salads with different toppings and sauces to satisfy customers’ taste buds.

“We seem to do well in the college towns so it just seemed to make sense to have a Surcheros built here,” Director of Operations, Brendan Wiederhold said.
