The Georgia Southern softball team is continuing their season with a double-header on Tuesday as they take on Furman.

The Eagles have so far seen a successful season, falling 9-4 and being on a one-game win streak after their impressive weekend of play in the Eagle Round Robin where they went 5-1 on the weekend.

As a team GS shows to be batting an average of 0.284 while logging 77 runs and 93 hits so far on the season. The Eagles have also logged a total of 16 home runs in the 13 games they’ve played with Senior infielder and catcher Logan Harrell claiming four of those.

Junior outfielder Shelby Wilson has proved to be a team leader so far this season as she’s logged a batting average of 0.455 from her 33 at bats while notching 10 runs, 15 hits and three home runs.

Unlike the Eagles, Furman has had a less-than impressive season so far as they look at an overall record of 2-7 while being on a four-game loss streak.

As a team the Paladins log a .227 batting average as well as notching 32 runs and 47 hits from their total of 207 at bats.

Leading Furman is Casey Bigham with her batting average of 0.346 off of her 26 at bats, contributing eight runs and nine hits.

The double header is set for Tuesday at Eagle Field (Softball), with game one started at 2:30 p.m. and game two following at 5 p.m. Both games will be streamed on True Blue Live.
