A new continuous shuttle bus will run from Sweetheart Circle to 111 South Apartments and then to Allen E. Paulson Stadium.

This shift in the route, which began Jan. 14, is due to the 63 new Georgia Southern students being housed at 111 South after mold was found in Kennedy Hall in early January. Students arrived in their new 111 South apartments two weeks ago.

“We did ‘Operation Move-In,’ where we assisted with University Housing on this past Saturday [Jan. 13] and we carried over through Sunday, ” Jamie Reiss, property manager of 111 South, said.

The students will be accommodated at 111 South as long as possible.

“We plan on keeping them through May, and through the summer if they wish and beyond. 111 South plans to house as many GS students as needed for as long as we need to,” Reiss said.

GS Parking & Transportation staff member Derrick Davis said the route will only remain in place through the spring.

“We call it the Sweetheart Shuttle, or the Stadium Shuttle. It is going to remain the same through this semester with the students at 111 South. In the fall, the bus will not go to 111 South,” Davis said.
