Georgia Southern’s SGA election season has begun

SGA election season has begun this past week at GS.

The available positions in this election are President, Executive Vice President, Vice President for Finance, President’s Cabinet, and Senators.

Intent to run forms for candidates opened on February 28 and will remain open until March 18. 

Candidates interested in Executive Officer, Director, or Senator positions are required to attend one informational session on one of the listed dates on georgiasouthern.edu. If potential candidates are unable to attend one of these sessions, contact the SGA advisor, Dr. John Banter. 

Campaigning for candidates lasts from March 28 at 8 a.m. until April 6 at 11:59 p.m., with a President and EVP debate held on Thursday, March 31 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

Elections will take place from Monday, April 4 until Wednesday, April 6 at midnight. Students will be able to submit their votes via their GS email. An announcement of winners will be on April 7. 

All new SGA members will be required to attend an SGA Transition bootcamp on April 21 and 22, lasting from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
