Last Day to Vote for SGA Candidates

The voting period for 2022-2023 SGA Elections end on Wednesday, April 6.

Winners will be announced on Thursday, April 7 at noon. 

SGA Transition Bootcamp (Required for all cabinet members) is on April 21-22 (Thursday and Friday: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.).

Executive Officer Positions

President:

  • Alexis Belvin, junior at the Armstrong Campus, serves as the current president. “My main focus will be campus safety, continuous efforts for inclusivity, mental health awareness, and accessibility,” said Belvin. 
  • Brianne Dollar, also running for President, is a sophomore majoring in public health at the Statesboro Campus. “As President of SGA, I would work to make sure that the well-being of students is prioritized in all decision-making and help uplift students to make decisions that are best for their health as well,” said Dollar.

Executive Vice President:

  • Audrey Lowery, a senior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. “I want to create a safe space for students who are suffering from suicidal thoughts, and I want to bring awareness through Suicide Awareness week,” said Lowery.
  • Davis Green, a junior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Criminal Justice. ““I believe that the students of Georgia Southern need someone who is honest and will tell the truth when it comes to important issues facing students on campus no matter how hard the truth may be,” said Green.

Vice President of Finance:

  • Amare McJolly, a junior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Music Education. “If elected to this position, I intend to carry on my tradition of serving Georgia Southern students,” said McJolly.

Vice President of Auxiliary Affairs:

  • Monique Edwards, a junior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Criminal Justice & Criminology. “I am seeking the position of Vice President of Auxiliary Affairs because I want to be a voice in amplifying our college experience,” said Edwards.

Vice President of Student Affairs:

  • Amina Sarr, a sophomore at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Health Sciences. “As your director of student affairs, my goal is to make sure there is nothing that Georgia Southern students need that we can provide,” said Sarr.

Vice President of Inclusive Excellence:

  • Korri Bryan, a senior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Middle Grades Education. “I am interested in running for this position to connect students with members of the alumni association and networking opportunities for students who are graduating,” said Bryan.

Vice President of Alumni Relations:

  • Jacob Hamilton, a senior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Political Science. “With this platform, I intend to build a bridge between undergrad and graduate students within the same course of study,” said Hamilton.

Senator Positions

Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing:

  • Precious Coleman, a junior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Information Technology. “Joining SGA will not only give me the opportunity to do just that but also allow me to palliate with enhancing the campus engagement between the staff and the students,” said Coleman.
  • Grey Myers, a freshman at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Computer Engineering. “SGA would allow me to work with those in my field to see what would benefit our campus the best,” said Myers.
  • Michael Woodcock, a sophomore at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. “Really we just need to be open to the idea that with enough time and effort, anything on campus could change,” said Woodcock.

College of Arts and Humanities:

  • Javanna Rogers, a Senior at the Armstrong Campus, is majoring in Theater. “I am interested in SGA to ensure that students are not only heard, but see the changes they want to see,” said Rogers.
  • Kimmy Smith, a senior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Public Relations. “I am running for a Senator position for the College of Arts and Humanities in order to represent my college in a way that will uplift the voices of the students in order to make sure their concerns are heard and their needs are met,” said Smith.

College of Behavioral and Social Sciences:

  • Zamaria Ball, a junior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Psychology. “I would like to work on creating more inclusive and diverse events where everyone has a chance to speak,” said Ball.
  • Megan Cole, a sophomore at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Psychology. “I would love the opportunity to represent the community that has given me so much,” Cole.
  • Genoah Culler, a Junior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in International Studies. “I would like to be a Senator for SGA because I want to make a difference and help improve my college,” said Culler.
  • “I plan on helping Greek Life with their funding,” said Mason Gert, a junior at the Statesboro Campus, majoring in Political Science. “Greek life does not just include social fraternities that we think of, it includes service fraternities, honor organizations, and professional organizations.”
  • Joelle Elisa, a sophomore at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Political Science. “I’d like to ensure greater I’m seeking a position as a senator for the college of behavioral and social sciences because I believe that I represent the students of my college and I intend on keeping other students in my field at the forefront of all things Georgia southern,” said Elisa.
  • Mya Hyatt, a sophomore at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in International Studies. “I am interested in the position because it allows me to unite us by banishing the fear and allows me to give faith to the ones that have none,” said Hyatt.

College of Education:

  • Megan Bryant, a junior at the Statesboro Campus said, “My major is Secondary Education, so I would love to start as a Senator for the College of Education.”
  • MaKayla Johnson, a junior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Elementary Education. “I want to transform Eagle Nation into a community of equity and inclusion for all,” said Johnson.
  • Jaquela Sheely, a junior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Elementary Education. “I will try my best to plan events for the students to get them to want to join SGA,” said Sheely.

College of Science and Mathematics:

  • Jada Watkins, a senior at the Armstrong Campus, is majoring in Biology. “I would like to improve the campus environment by providing ways to incorporate unity through leadership development and academic success,” said Watkins.
  • Valeria Ensenat Rivera, a junior at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Biology. “My reason for running for SGA is quite simple, to serve As the senator for the College of Science and Mathematics my mission is to push and incentivize for more research grants and fellowships to be awarded to the students so we can realize the scientific potential that I know is possible,” said Rivera.

Parker College of Business:

  • Alexander Perpinan, a sophomore at the Statesboro Campus, is majoring in Management. “Hopefully, becoming senator will be the first of many steps to make a more unified student body,” said Perpinan.
