In honor of Arab American Heritage Month, the Arabic Club organized the Arab American History: Culture and Contributions exhibit which was created by the Arab American National Museum. This display was a traveling exhibition which showed how Arab Americans have played an important part in American society for over 125 years. According to Youssef Salhi, Advisor of the Arabic Club, “this is the first time that there has been an exhibit like this. In the past, the Arabic club organized other events such as showing a documentary called the Arab American. The documentary talks about the history of Arab Americans and diversity of that community.” This event was the first time that an exhibit was used that focused on Arab Americans, their contributions to society, and their history.

The exhibit has impacted students from Georgia Southern University. Youssef would like people to know that “Arab Americans are Americans just like everyone else. They may come from a different part of the world, but they are Americans. They are Arabs and have self-identities that they are proud of. Through their identity, they have a lot to share such as the way they cook their food, the way they interact with their family, and their values.”

Local businesses owned by Arab Americans are Fast and Easy (a gas station) and places that sell tobacco. Georgia Southern University also have various faculty members who are Arab American.
