President Marrero announced, in the monthly staff council meeting, that legislators approved full funding for the HOPE scholarship for the next academic year.

What’s new: Marrero also announced two new projects to come, “$1.69 million in bonds to fund renovations on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah for a new medical campus partnership with the Medical College of Georgia, AND $6 million in bonds for a new dental school facility on the Statesboro Campus.”

  • As he mentioned this being his fourth year as president, he spoke about how Georgia Southern has “conferred more degrees in the last three years than any other three-year period in the history of our institution.”
