Open forum for Associate VP for Student Engagement candidates to start this week

The Search Committee for the Associate Vice President of Student Engagement will be hosting three open forum sessions for their candidates starting Thursday.

The forum will be held on Feb.1, 2 and 5 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room, and from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ogeechee Theater in Savannah.

The forums

Candidates Ken Gassiot, Benardo Dargan and Michael Duncan will be presenting their platforms and answering questions about their campaign, Dean of Students and current Associate Vice President Patrice Brown said.

“This will provide people an opportunity to know the candidates and to provide feedback on each,” Brown said.

The forums will be open to the public.

The candidates

Gassiot’s credentials include Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Research and Bachelor of Science in institutional management at Texas Tech University.

Dargan received a Master of Arts degree in student affairs administration from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science in music education from South Carolina State University.

Duncan has a Master of Science, Education and Human Development from Radford University and is the Associate Vice President for Student Involvement at the College of Charleston.
