Hugo Award-winning author and former professor speaks Thursday night

Hugo Award-winning science fiction author and former Georgia Southern University professor, Will McIntosh, will speak Thursday night at 7 p.m. in IT Building 1005.

Before transitioning into full-time writing, McIntosh was a psychology professor at GS. He has since gone on to win 11 awards as well as getting his novel, Defenders, optioned by Warner Brothers for a feature film, according to the biography on his website.

The Hugo Award is specifically given out to authors of science fiction or fantasy writers who have written notable books or short stories.

McIntosh released his first young adult novel, Burning Midnight, in 2016. He has written four novels that have been translated into five languages as well as short stories that have been published in magazines such as Daily Science Fiction.
