Evan McDonald, a baseball player for Georgia Southern University, was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a foul ball during yesterday’s game against the University of Georgia.

McDonald was in the on-deck circle when a ball was tipped by  C.J Ballard, and made contact with McDonald’s head.

McDonald received medical treatment on the field before being taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The medical emergency caused a roughly twenty-minute delay, and the baseball team’s head coach, Rodney Hennon, later sent out a tweet stating that McDonald is okay.
