The Red Flag Campaign is a nationwide campaign geared towards college campuses to educate students on “red flags” that may be overlooked for dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking on campus.

A project of the Virginia Sexual & Domestic Violence Action Alliance, the Red Flag Campaign champions bystander intervention upon signs of “red flags.” It is stated on The Red Flag Campaign’s website that “one in five students experience dating violence.”

Georgia Southern’s University Wellness program is hosting the campaign this year which began on March 28, running through March 31.

Students have get the chance to inform themselves of dating violence and “red flags” of bad relationships. Additionally, students can write a warning sign on a provided red flag, that will be placed in the greenery near the Russell Union Rotunda. The Red Flag Campaign is part of a week of awareness for sexual and dating violence, which features guest speaker Tim Mousseau and the event, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes.
