Georgia Southern nursing students memorialized at capitol

The Georgia Southern nursing students who were killed on I-16 were memorialized on the first day of the 2016 legislative session.

The first day of the new legislative session started on Monday January 11.

The death of these Georgia Southern nursing students has gathered a great amount of attention.

With major legislation being passed through the US congress.

Governor Nathan Deal, Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, the family of the victims and survivors of the crash, Megan Richards and Brittany McDaniel were present.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution Emily Mcguire, President of Georgia Southern University Student Nurses’ Association said, “The silver linings of this dark cloud are definitely Megan Richards and Brittney McDaniel.”

The death of these Nursing students has turned into a state wide tragedy.

The ceremony also include a candle lighting and the opportunity to offer memorial gifts to the victims family.
