It’s officially a new year, meaning a new list of resolutions that people swear they’ll stick to, and usually don’t even end up making past the first month or so. But having a goal is better than not having one at all. Below are the top five resolutions associated with 2015.

.) Buy (and use) a planner: Never used a planner? No wonder your life is a mess. These little books are life savers. They are great for keeping track of a busy week, and helping remember important dates and such.

.) Watch what you eat: Believe it or not, eating healthier will make you feel better in the long run than any cream-filled donut ever will. And living a healthier lifestyle will inevitably lead to a happier self.

.) Don’t Procrastinate: Avoid the dreadful late nights the day before a deadline. Having tasks complete in advance will take a huge weight off of your shoulders.

.) Be active: No, you don’t necessarily have to spend hours at the gym. But take the stairs, go play football with a group of friends, or park further away for a longer walk. Stop making shortcuts for your everyday life.

.) Be nice: Yes, believe it or not, being nice can truly make someone’s day. You never know what someone is going through, and it feels great when someone is nice to you. So return the favor.
