A new service organization, SPARK, is bringing the community’s passion for nutrition and fitness together for a canned food drive.

With their motto “A small SPARK can light up the dark,” Jamal Clifton, Xxavier Robertson and Charles Wynn, the three co-founders of SPARK, have banned together to create an organization that serves both the community and the world.

Along with supporting local benefit causes, SPARK plans to extend its aid to the Domestic Fire Disaster Relief and the International Natural Disaster Relief through the advisement of the American Red Cross.

Unlike a typical food drive, the members of SPARK have located 20 local professionals to support, educate and share their love for fitness at the drive itself. Community outreach and involvement is what sets this service event apart from other food drives.

As their first major event to kick off the many future fundraisers, concerts and banquets to come, SPARK encourages everyone to attend and donate cans, as well as participate in and learn about the passions of others.

The event will be located in the Sea Island Bank parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 15.
