STATESBORO – The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is seeking volunteers to represent Georgia Southern University in Monday’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parades in Statesboro and Savannah.

Students who participate in the Jan. 20 parades can receive free lunch and a free t-shirt, but the OMA warns that there is a limited quantity of t-shirts.

The Statesboro parade will begin at 2 p.m., beginning at East Olliff Street and North Main Street and ending at Luetta Moore Park, according to the OMA’s signup instructions.

The Savannah parade will begin at 10 a.m., beginning at East Broad Street Elementary School and ending at the West Broad Street YMCA.

The OMA will provide transportation from the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses to the parades. Students can check in at the Russell Union bus stop in Statesboro by 11:15 a.m. or the Memorial College Center in Savannah by 7:30 a.m. for transportation, according to the OMA.
