Police Beat Feb. 5-9

Wednesday, Feb. 5

8:49 a.m.: An incident report was taken for an agency assist, Gwinnett County, Georgia, for a forgery.

8:50 a.m.: Criminal Investigations arrested Jefferson Wright Doehling, 19, Statesboro, Ga., for an incident that occurred on Jan. 22, 2014 at Centennial Place 2401. Doehling was charged with Obstruction – misdemeanor.

10:06 a.m.: Officers responded to an injured person at the College of Business. The injured person did not desire EMS response.

11:05 a.m.: An incident report was taken for found property at the College of Education bus stop.

11:25 a.m.: An incident report was taken for a suspicious activity at Parking and Transportation. This case was assigned to Criminal Investigations.

1:47 p.m.: A motor vehicle accident report was taken for a motor vehicle accident in Lot 21.

3:13 p.m.: An incident report was taken for lost/mislaid property outside the Eagle Print Shop.

5:36 p.m.: Officers responded to Health Services in reference to an injured person.  The injury occurred at Centennial Place.  EMS responded and transported the injured person.

7:45 p.m.: An incident report was taken for found property at Veazy Hall.

Thursday, Feb. 6

7:30 a.m.: A motor vehicle accident report was taken for a motor vehicle accident in Lot 12.

1:30 p.m.: Officers responded to University Villas in reference to an unwanted person. The person was advised to leave the residence. Housing RD responded and spoke with the residents.

4 p.m.: An incident report was taken for a criminal trespass in G-Lot. This case was assigned to Criminal Investigations.

5:05 p.m.: A motor vehicle accident report was taken for a motor vehicle accident in the Newton/COBA staff parking lot.

5:46 p.m.: An incident report was taken for two thefts of unattended property at the Nessmith – Lane Conference Center. This case was assigned to Criminal Investigations.

6:28 p.m.: An incident report was taken for the theft of unattended property at the RAC. This case was assigned to Criminal Investigations.

7:29 p.m.: A motor vehicle accident report was taken for a motor vehicle accident in Lot 21.

9:26 p.m.: A welfare check was conducted on a subject at University Villas. Contact was made with the subject of the welfare check and no problems were found.

10:15 p.m.: Officers responded to a fire alarm at the Alpha Delta Phi House. Contact was made with an occupant who advised she had burnt popcorn, which set off the fire alarm.

1:27 a.m.: Officers discovered an intoxicated person near the corner of Georgia Ave. and Chandler Road. Daniel Raymond Plante, 20, Statesboro, Ga., was arrested and charged with Possession of Alcohol – Under 21 Years of Age, False ID and Disorderly/Indecent Conduct.

Friday, Feb. 7 

8:22 a.m.: A motor vehicle accident report was taken for a motor vehicle accident in the RAC parking lot.

9 a.m.: Criminal Investigations opened a case on a financial transaction card fraud. This case was assigned to Criminal Investigations.

10:29 a.m.: Officers responded to the Russell Union in reference to a sick person. EMS responded but did not transport.

12:34 p.m.: An incident report was taken for an entering auto in B-Lot. This case was assigned to Criminal Investigation.

2:10 p.m.:  Criminal Investigations arrested Matison Michelle Stevens, 18, Duluth, Ga., and charged her with False Report of a Crime & False Statements and Writings.

2:21 p.m.: An incident report was taken for an entering auto in lot 32. This case was assigned to Criminal Investigations.

2:24 p.m.: Officers responded to the RAC in reference to an affray. Two subjects that were involved were judicially referred.

5:31 p.m.: Officers responded to Deal Hall in reference to a hold-up alarm. The hold-up alarm was activated when the alarm was armed by an employee.

11:35 p.m.: Officers responded to Freedom’s Landing in reference to unknown subjects shining a green laser at subjects in the parking lot. One subject was judicially referred.

Saturday, Feb. 8

12:18 a.m.: Officers discovered an intoxicated subject in J-Lot. Martrel Jaquez Peoples, 21, Fort Stewart, Ga., was arrested and charged with Failure to Leave Campus.

6:40 a.m.: Officers responded to Centennial Place in reference to a sick person. EMS responded and transported the sick person.

7:07 p.m.: Officers responded to Southern Pines in reference to a sick person. EMS responded and transported the sick person.

8:34 p.m.: An incident report was taken for lost/mislaid property at Kennedy Hall.

Sunday, Feb. 9

12:07 a.m.: Officers conducted a traffic stop at University Park.  The driver of the vehicle, Sara Ann Winklepleck, 24, Statesboro, Ga., was arrested and charged with DUI 1st.

2:20 a.m.: Officers conducted welfare check at Freedom’s Landing. Contact was made with the subject of the welfare check and no problems were found.

2:38 a.m.: Officers conducted a traffic stop on Chandler Road at University Villas.  The driver of the vehicle, Kwiana Armante Powell, 18, Statesboro, Ga., was arrested and charged with DUI 1st.  The passenger in the vehicle, Nadine N. Ossei, 18, Statesboro, Ga., was arrested and charged with Attempting to Purchase Alcohol – Under 21 Years of Age.

12:05 p.m.: An incident report was taken for a civil matter at Southern Pines.

12:32 p.m.: Officers responded to Eagle Village to assist the Statesboro Police with an incident that occurred off campus. This case was assigned to Criminal Investigations.

12:49 p.m.: An incident report was taken for damage to property in J-Lot.

2:54 p.m.: Officers responded to Southern Pines in reference to a drug complaint. Two occupants were judicially referred.

4:27 p.m.: Officers responded to the ZTA House in reference to a burglar alarm. The burglar alarm was accidently activated by an occupant.

8:06 p.m.: An incident report was taken for found property at the Eagle Village Clubhouse.

8:59 p.m.: Officers responded to Eagle Village in reference to a sexual assault. This case was assigned to Criminal Investigations.
