2013 football schedule released

The Georgia Southern University football home schedule has been released and it features prime matchups with several longtime rivals for the upcoming 2013 season.

Promotions, new events and activities are planned to attract more fans to Paulson stadium this year.

In the first three home games, the Eagles will face Savannah State University, Saint Francis University (High School Band Day), and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (Family Weekend) with a 6 p.m. kick-off time.

This is only the second time in GSU history that the team will open at home in August.

On Oct. 12 the Eagles play The Citadel with a 1 p.m. kick-off time in conjunction with this game is a new promotion sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America called “Camp Out” allowing Eagles fans to stay overnight in Paulson Stadium after the game.

Both home games in November, including the Nov. 9 homecoming game versus Western Carolina University are set for 2 p.m. The other home game on Nov. 2 will be versus Furman University and is designated to be the Blue Out game.

GSU’s final two games are on the road traveling to Elon University on Nov. 16 and facing off against the University of Florida on Nov. 23.
