A Georgia Southern University student was pronounced dead this morning after GSU Police responded to a report of a collapsed student, according to an email from the Dean of Students Office.

Officials transported Cory Wilson, a junior management major, to East Georgia Regional Medical Center, according to the email.

A preliminary investigation revealed no signs of foul play, but the cause of death is yet to be determined.

“The entire Georgia Southern family is deeply saddened by this tragic loss,” Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications Christian Flathman said in an email. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the student’s family and friends during this very difficult time.”

In the email, the Office of the Dean of Students reminded students of the counseling services offered through the Counseling and Career Development Center.
