STATESBORO — Statesboro is set to get another grocery store with the opening of an Aldi Aug. 29 and is a part of a $3.4 billion investment to expand Aldi to 2,500 new locations.

The Statesboro location is the first of three coming to the Savannah metropolitan area. Stores in Pooler and Savannah will open later in the fall.

The store will have a ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 29 at 8:45 a.m. Following the opening, Aldi will hold a gift card giveaway for the first 100 shoppers. There will also be a chance to enter a sweepstakes for a year of free Aldi produce. According to Shaun O’Keefe, Aldi’s Jefferson division vice president, one will just have to submit an entry form during the event to be entered into the drawing.

“Our passion is making sure high-quality food is available to all shoppers, and we’re looking forward to making that a reality with our new Statesboro store,” said O’Keefe.

The new store’s address is 270 Henry Blvd, Statesboro, GA 30458.

Aldi is a grocery store chain that has operated since 1976. They focus on selling their own exclusive brand as a rival to name brand products.
