Georgia Southern’s softball team will be back in action Wednesday while looking for redemption after being swept by Appalachian State the previous weekend.

The Eagles will be traveling to Jacksonville, Florida to take on North Florida while looking to break a loss streak of three.

Georgia Southern (13-10, 0-3)

The Eagles are currently batting a team average of 0.269 while notching a total of 126 runs and 163 hits off of 606 at-bats.

Junior outfielder Shelby Wilson currently leads the Eagles behind the bat, showing a 0.431 average off her 58 at-bats and logging 16 runs, 25 hits and six home runs. Senior catcher/infielder Logan Harrell has also impressed so far this season with her eight home runs while tallying 20 hits and 16 runs.

Pitching-wise we could probably expect some action from sophomore pitcher Rylee Waldrep who has seen the most time on the mound for the Eagles, having 56.2 innings pitched as well as throwing a total of 26 strikeouts and logging a 3.71 ERA.

North Florida (11-8)

The Ospreys are looking at a 0.284 team batting average while logging a total of 82 runs, 139 hits and six home runs.

Senior outfielder Dominica Cocuzza leads UNF with her 0.500 batting average off her 54 at-bats while notching nin runs and 27 hits.

The Eagles can probably expect to see UNF’s Morgan Blourne on the mound as the junior logs a 2.73 ERA after pitching a total of 42 innings so far this season.

First pitch is set for 5 p.m. Wednesday.
