The highly anticipated Spring ’22 concert, hosted by the University Programming Board and Office of Student Activities, has passed us by, and T-Pain did not disappoint.

Hanner Fieldhouse was packed to the brim after students, faculty, staff and alumni eagerly waited in a line wrapped around the building. T-Pain performed some iconic covers, new songs and of course his hits like “Buy U a Drank”, “Bartender” and “Booty Wurk”.

With his DJ at the top of the stage, screens behind T-Pain displaying different videos and effects and an array of different colored lights and lasers flashing, the show kept the audience engaged.

He was only supposed to perform for 60 minutes, but instead stayed dancing and singing for a full, 85 minute show, claiming it was to ‘practice’ for his tour. The crowd eroded with cheers as he continued to keep the energy up the entire time.

Here are some student’s favorite moments from the concert, and what they loved about T-Pain.

  • “That it was $10, but he showed out and the energy was awesome,” said senior Caleb McCoy.
  • “I think my favorite part was probably seeing the crowd dancing together and T-Pain getting everyone to sing together,” said senior Darienne Stembridge.
  • “My favorite part of the concert was being able to spend time with some of my favorite people and make memories that will last forever,” said sophomore Flor Rodriguez.
  • “My favorite parts were whenever he would incorporate his old songs and songs that he was featured in so that we could all sing them. I feel like a lot of us don’t know his newer music, but maybe that’s just me,” said alumna Kenzy Lane.
  • “I enjoyed when he performed “Buy You a Drank” as it’s one of my favorite songs to jam out to by him,” said freshman Leah Allen.
