The Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) and the Multicultural Student Center will host the second annual Pride Prom this Friday in the Russell Union Ballroom to end Coming Out Week.

Pride Prom will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and it is free and open to the public. The theme of the dance this year is Alice in Rainbowland.

According to Nicole Peavy, vice president of GSA, the purpose of the dance is to bring awareness to gender and sexual minorities.

“[Pride Prom is like] the prom you had in high school, but better,” Peavy said.

Peavy said that at Pride Prom, attendees can dress however they want and bring whoever they want in order to express who they truly are.
