Eagle Dining Services offers a variety of plans for all students

Luke Pashke

Contrary to popular belief, Eagle Dining Plans are not just for freshmen. In fact, Eagle Dining Services offers several for all students, regardless of age, as well as faculty and staff.

The two unlimited dining plans are called “Eagle Unlimited Blue” and “Eagle Unlimited Gold” and they differ as follows:

Eagle Unlimited Blue:

  • Access to Residential Dining: Unlimited
  • Dining Dollars per Semester: $100
  • Guest Passes per Semester: Five
  • 2015-16 Price: $1725

Eagle Unlimited Gold:

  • Access to Residential Dining: Unlimited
  • Dining Dollars per Semester: $300
  • Guest Passes per Semester: Eight
  • 2015-16 Price: $1875

The unlimited access to residential dining includes the Dining Commons and the Lakeside Dining Commons. Dining dollars can be used at all Eagle Dining Services’ locations on campus. These include Chic-fil-A, Starbucks, the Market Street Deli, Zach’s Brews, the Gus Mart, Wrapsody Grill, and Freshens.

Eagle Dining Services also offers two “Budget Bucks” plans. These plans offer students a predetermined amount of Budget Bucks each week of the 16-week semester. Budget Bucks are accepted at any of the EDS locations on campus.

Budget Bucks 480:

  • Access to Residential Dining: $8.75 per entry
  • Reload Amount: $30 per week/16 weeks
  • 2015-16 Price: $480

Budget Bucks 960:

  • Access to Residential Dining: $8.75 per entry
  • Reload Amount: $60 per week/16 weeks
  • 2015-16 Price: $960

These two plans offer students a flexible way to manage their dining expenses. Each Monday, accounts are reloaded with the predetermined amount of Budget Bucks. If a student doesn’t use all of their Budget Bucks in a particular week, they will carry over to the following week. Remaining balances at the end of the semester are automatically credited to the following semester.

A third option for all students is to utilize Georgia Southern’s Eaglexpress value plan. This plan allows you, your parents, family members, or friends to deposit money directly into your Eaglexpress account.

To activate an account, students just need to make a deposit to their Eaglexpress account through their eAccount or at the EagleCard Center located in the Dining Commons.

Students can then use money on their Eaglexpress for all on-campus dining locations as well as off-campus dining options included in the plan.

Money in these accounts never expire. Two basic dining plans are offered through Eaglexpress.

Eaglexpress 350:

  • Access to Residential Dining: $8.75 per entry
  • $350 on your Eaglexpress
  • 10% in Dining Dollars ($35)

Eaglexpress 700:

  • Access to Residential Dining: $8.75 per entry
  • $700 on your EAGLEXPRESS
  • 10% in Dining Dollars ($70)
