Hello to all that read this! My name is Asa Baurle, and I come from a small oceanside town outside of Boston, Massachusetts called Winthrop. I am a Senior majoring in Multimedia Journalism here at Georgia Southern and am currently working as a multimedia journalist for Your Newsroom.
I originally came to Southern majoring in Finance, but after some serious consideration and deep self-reflection, I switched to becoming a multimedia journalist over the Summer of 2020. I always knew that this is the career path I have wanted to pursue since middle school. By doing this, I hope to serve as a trailblazer and inspire others like me who are on the fence about following their dreams to do the same, even though it can be an intimidating decision.
This upcoming Fall will be my first real experience working for a legitimate news organization. However, I am confident in providing unbiased, engaging, and fair reporting to my surrounding community and student body. And after witnessing the cultural divide between news outlets and the general public over the past few years, I am fully committed to rebuilding the trust between the two entities during my career.
Aside from gathering information and conducting interviews, you can catch me spending early mornings in the RAC working out and on Sunday afternoons watching my favorite professional sports team, the New England Patriots.
